Snow or Sand?

Are you planning to escape winter, or embrace it? Our two newest drives have so much to offer, it will be hard to decide. Then again, winter is long enough to do both.

Winter Hikes

The snowmobile was invented in Wisconsin, so what better place to enjoy the chill of winter. Miles of trails through beautiful snow-laden forest and across frozen lakes become a base for snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and ice fishing.

Toes on the Beach

Warm weather, ocean breezes, and soft sand in your toes, welcome to Florida’s Atlantic Coast. A string of beaches, tropical flora and fascinating wildlife — think manatees and alligators — with just enough glitz to satisfy every taste.

Forest Passes Are Awesome Gifts

Free Standard Shipping on the America the Beautiful Passes until December 31, 2015.

Choose from America the Beautiful Annual Pass, Pacific Northwest, Southern California, Tonto, Coconino and White Mountain National Forests.

It’s easy to order online and we can ship directly to the recipient. No name is associated with pass when it ships. For the America the Beautiful Pass, the recipient simply signs the pass on the back. (Bonus: two people can sign and use the pass and they don’t even have to live in the same household).

We can also include a free snazzy gift card. Just type your message in the “Special Request” area when ordering — or send us an email. Don’t forget to let us know what holiday or celebration it’s for — as we have cards for every theme. If you want the gift to be a surprise, put your email address in both the billing and shipping sections so they don’t receive a “Your order has been shipped” email from us.

We have free standard shipping on an America the Beautiful Pass until December 31, 2015.

Getting a seasonal road closure message in our Road Trip Planner?

When you’re planning a trip in winter that travels along seasonally closed roads, our free Road Trip Planner will notify you to take an alternate route. Our mapping software will route as soon as the roads open, which depends on weather conditions that vary each year.

But what if you’re planning now for next spring or summer? Here are two ways to override the problem.

  1. Add the stops with road closures as an activity. Place them on a nearby road that’s open year-round. Once your preferred road opens, you can switch back to regular stops.
  2. If we have a pre-planned scenic drive on the exact road you want, add it to your road trip in place of your individual stops.

Happy Holidays!

We are extremely grateful to you, our fellow travelers. Thank you for your support, and making us a part of your adventures. It means the world to our small team. What are we hopeful for 2016? To encourage you to take time to travel and explore. Most of us live within one hour of a natural area, wetland, forest trails, even an urban park. We believe that connecting to nature makes us happier and healthier.
