Point Lobos State Reserve is considered by many to be California’s best state park. Monterey cypress, Monterey pine, and the rocky shoreline are just part of the natural splendor. It offers picnic spots, hiking through the forests and walks along the beach, where you can explore tidepools, coves, and rock formations. Sea lions are frequent visitors on the beach and sea otters can be seen with binoculars on the nearby sea stacks. The entire reserve is protected, so like all other parks, do not remove anything but litter.
There is a strict number of visitors per day to the park, so arrive early for your best chance to visit.
