Constructed in the early 1800s, this one lane, gravel road heads over Sandwich Notch and into the White Mountain National Forest.
The scenic drive begins in the town of Center Sandwich which is reachable via exit 24 off I-93 for NH-25 East. In Holdernes, head east on NH-113 around Squam Lake to Center Sandwich. Before heading out, you should stop at the General Store downtown to ensure that the road is open.
Then heading north on Grove Street, which will become Diamond Ledge Road and lead to Sandwich Notch Road. Shortly after climbing up the Sandwidth Notch, consider stopping at the Algonquin Trail which heads up Sandwich Mountain.
