The general store and medical clinic was built in the 1870s and became the social hub for Oregon’s Chinese community. The interior is intact — as if the owners Ing “Doc” Hay and Lung On stepped out momentarily. Inside are shelves stocked with supplies, herbal medicines, Chinese antiques and more. The Interpretive Center features a video which includes history and interviews with Doc Hay’s surviving patients. The free museum is open May-October.
