The Boulder-Bullfrog Scenic Road leaves Boulder and heads through the Capitol Reef National Park on your way to Lake Powell and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. This 67-mile side-trip travels on partially dirt roads but the adventurous will surely profit.
After heading through the narrow roads of Long Canyon, stop in 12-miles at the overlook to enjoy the view behind you.
If you’re in a four-wheel drive vehicle, take a side-trip into the Upper Muley Twist Canyon for one of the finest views at Strike Valley Overlook. If not, enjoy the Waterpocket Fold which is a monoclinal fold in the Earth’s surface. After passing the fold, you will have one more chance to see it before the road quickly descends 1,000 feet of elevation.
At the end of the road, turn right to explore the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area or turn right to access the Bicentennial Highway.
Get directions from your start address to the beginning of and including this scenic drive. Choose either an alternate ending or same as start.
