Situated on a promontory is Point Dume State Park. Find parking at the top of the cliff (which is very popular with rock climbers) and walk down or try your luck by the beach on the side of the road. This is a good surfing spot due to the shorter sand shelf, creating waves with short duration and high impact. Enjoy swimming, scuba diving or immerse yourself in the incredible views and rocky cove. Have binoculars in hand to gaze upon dolphins and gray whales during migration from December to March. Hiking trails can be found at Point Dume Natural Preserve which is at the end of Westward Beach Road.
