The Pemaquid Point Lighthouse is featured on the Maine State Quarter. The historic lighthouse was originally built in 1827 but quickly deteriorated and was rebuilt in 1835. The lighthouse-keepers home is now the Fishermen’s Museum where you can learn about the history of the lighthouse and the region. Situated within the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park, explore the ocean-carved shores, stunning views and enjoy a picnic to the sound of crashing waves.
